Size targeting does not silently shrink dimensions or switch formats. Add dimension bounds or choose another format only when you want those changes.

Is 1 MB the same as 1 MiB here?

No. This preset uses 1,000,000 bytes; the separate browser selection guard uses binary MiB.

Will the tool change image dimensions to reach 1 MB?

Not unless you also enter maximum width or height requirements.
